SEDCO W4DXCC VIII is over but the memories of smiling faces and folks enjoying themselves lives on.

Thanks to all of you for coming and a special thank you to the speakers for presenting great programs and paying back to this wonderful hobby called Ham Radio. We are all blessed to have this opportunity to fellowship together with the common interest of DX and Contesting.

The donors who graciously and consistently give, the incredible team, the volunteers who jump in when needed and the MainStay all help make SEDCO W4DXCC the great gathering we look forward to each September.

We are able to donate all the money, after expenses, and we love doing it. Gosh, we could do so much to help if we won the lottery, hi. Mary Hobart, look out!

For the founders, George, W4UWC; Rosie, KA4S and myself, it is time to pass the banner to someone who will continue the ‘fellowship’ objective above all else, has the ‘want’ to help others and has demonstrated the leadership and ability to ‘make it last’ for many years to come. George, Rosie and I have been blessed to have had this opportunity to bring folks together with our common interest and after eight years our new leader will not only carry on with what has made SEDCO W4DXCC what it is but make it better too.

So it was announced on September 29, 2012 that Dave Anderson, K4SV, will be that leader with the three of us doing what he may ask of us for as long as we can. We are excited with Dave and Sue standing up since it’s not heavy lifting and it’s indoors for the most part, but there are a million details, hi. Each member of our team has said they are up to helping as they have for the past 8 years. The MainStay management has also said they look forward to working with Dave and his team. Calhoun’s also has said the same.

Dave Anderson is an Elmer to many, asks for nothing back, follows-up on important issues and gives credit where due. He shares his knowledge and resources beyond the norm and in his heart he believes our hobby is about people first. He’s the man.
